Please join Keith Pepper and Kate’s Club for an evening of cocktails and conversation with Kate Atwood and Modern Loss cofounders Rebecca Soffer and Gabrielle Birkner about their new book, Modern Loss: Candid Conversation About Grief. Beginners Welcome.

Inspired by the website that the New York Times hailed as “redefining mourning,” the book is a fresh and irreverent examination into navigating grief and resilience in the age of social media, offering comfort and community for coping with the mess of loss through candid original essays from a variety of voices, accompanied by dozens of colorful illustrations and wry cartoons. Click here to purchase!

In a lively Q&A, Rebecca and Gabi will offer insights from the book and the Modern Loss community about grief and resilience.

Kate Atwood is an entrepreneur and a community leader who has built her career on heading-up social impact initiatives in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. At 23, Kate founded Kate’s Club, a nationally-acclaimed not-for-profit organization based in Atlanta that provides support to children and teens facing life after the death of a parent or sibling. Having lost her own mother to cancer at the age of 12, Kate set out to build a world for children and teens where it was ok to grieve. What started with just six kids is today a thriving sustainable community organization that serves thousands of children, and their families through year-round social and therapeutic support programs.  Currently, Kate serves as Executive Director of ChooseATL.
