Interns are a vital part of the Kate's Club team, and we're excited to introduce you to a new class of interns who will be joining us this summer! Amy, Jacob, Julie and Martine are all passinonate about supporting children, families and young adults who are grieving and will make a great impact in the lives of those we serve. Without further ado, meet our new interns and help us welcome them to the team!

Meet Amy: Kate's Club Program Intern in Brookhaven, GA

Amy is a graduating student from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. During career fairs, she found out about Kate’s Club and found what they stood for to be powerful, leading her to become a program intern. In her free time, Amy likes to paint, sew, craft, play her cello, and play video games. She has been dedicated to working with children in an educational setting since high school and is now studying to become an RBT to work with kids in autism centers. She hopes to gain some experience at Kate’s Club and uphold its values.

Kate's Club Grief Support Intern Julie joins us from Georgia State University

Meet Jacob: Kate's Club Data Intern from Georgia Tech University

Jacob is currently a junior at Georgia Tech, majoring in Psychology. He was drawn to Kate’s Club because of its mission to support children, teens, and families navigating grief, and he is excited to use data to help strengthen that work. As a Data Intern, Jacob hopes to learn more about how data can support meaningful mental health programming and community impact. In the future, he hopes to become a clinical psychologist. Outside of Kate’s Club, Jacob loves music, playing piano, sports, hiking, and trying new foods.

Meet Julie: Kate's Club Intern from Kennesaw State University

Julie is a senior at Kennesaw State University, majoring in Sociology, with plans to pursue a master’s degree in Conflict Management. It was through her studies that she first discovered Kate’s Club, feeling instantly drawn to its meaningful mission and welcoming staff. Driven by a genuine love for people, Julie brings valuable life experience to her internship, having spent 30 years connecting with clients as a hairstylist before returning to school to finish her degree. In her free time, she is an avid creator who enjoys painting, sculpting with clay, and keeping various art projects in progress. Julie is thrilled to use her diverse skill set and empathetic nature to support the children and families of Kate's Club.

Meet Martine: Kate's Club Grief Support Intern in Atlanta, GA

Martine is a Public Health student at Kennesaw State University pursuing a minor in Nutritional Science. She is passionate about helping children and hopes to make a positive impact in the healthcare and public health field. Martine chose to intern at Kate’s Club because of its mission to support children and families through grief and emotional healing, which closely aligns with her passion for helping others and creating supportive spaces for youth. Outside of academics and service, she enjoys traveling and exploring different places and cultures around the world.

Kate’s Club empowers children and teens, their families, and young adults facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, caregiver or someone important to them. The organization builds healing communities through recreational and therapeutic group programs, education and advocacy. Since its founding in Metro Atlanta in 2003, Kate’s Club has served thousands of individuals who are grieving, through both member and outreach services. Kate's Club offers services in Metro Atlanta, Southwest Georgia, Northeast Georgia and Coastal Georgia.
