Kate’s Club Selected for Prestigious Nonprofit Leadership Program at Georgetown
Director of Development and Marketing Courtney Krygiel to Join National Nonprofit Leaders in Training Program
Atlanta, G.A. (Sept.9, 2025) – Kate’s Club and Director of Development and Marketing Courtney Krygiel are honored to be funded by The New York Life Foundation to participate in New Strategies, an advanced training program conducted Sept. 14 - 17, 2025, by Georgetown University’s Business for Impact. Kate’s Club is a nationally recognized nonprofit that empowers children, families, and young adults facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, or caregiver through group and school-based programs, camps, and other forms of outreach.
Courtney will join a class of 40 nonprofit executives from around the country to participate in the New Strategies Program, specifically designed to help nonprofits increase and diversify their revenue streams.
Executives will learn from leaders in the nonprofit and philanthropy fields, Georgetown Business School faculty, and each other on topics ranging from cause marketing, earned revenue, using predictive analytics to increase individual giving levels, deferred and major gift funding options, alliances and mergers, and more. Ongoing access to expert speakers and networking among the nonprofit executives is a hallmark of New Strategies.
There is no application to apply to New Strategies, so being named by The New York Life Foundation is itself an honor. Only those nonprofits funded by a corporation or foundation are invited to participate in the program and only after being approved by New Strategies.
About Kate’s Club
In 2003, Kate’s Club launched in Atlanta, GA with a gathering of six children for a social outing at a bowling alley and has matured into a dynamic, statewide 501(c)3 nonprofit that has helped more than 10,000 grieving children and teens, their families, and young adults understand how to cope with their grief and know they are not alone. Kate’s Club is a place where being separated from someone important to you can be connective. Where experiencing a death can mean entering a new chapter of life. And where missing someone can lead to feeling seen. In this club, grief is challenging, but it’s also growth – an example of how every part of life can become a chance to have a positive experience if you’re supported and among a community. Our programs are guided by the National Alliance for Children's Grief's Standards of Practice. For more information, visit katesclub.org or engage with us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
