Kate’s Club’s vision is to create a world in which it’s okay to grieve, and we want you to join us in this work. We are a community for children, families, and young adults experiencing the death of someone important to them. The organization brings people together around grief, creating safe - both in-person and online - educational, recreational and therapeutic spaces designed to help everyone express the emotions that come with such a loss. We are looking for a leader for our Clubhouse programs in Metro Atlanta and you might be the right fit.

Are you the person everyone looks to for guidance?

We are seeking an action-oriented, empathetic leader who can drive volunteers and contractors to create a fantastic experience for our member families. As Metro Atlanta Clubhouse and Program Manager, you will lead our efforts to deliver programs at our Brookhaven location, planning activities and working with contractors to deliver our services. No detail is too small for you to oversee, from the physical set up of the Clubhouse to leading the welcome circle to greeting caregivers and families as they walk through our doors. You’ll lead our Camp Good Mourning programs with the support of the team, and help to bring member families through the application process to Kate’s Club.

What you'll do

Clubhouse Manager - 60% of the role

Our Clubhouse is often described as “the heart” of Kate’s Club. It’s here where children and teens come together to participate in therapeutic activities. You will be responsible for planning every aspect of Clubhouse, including Clubhouse Days, Family Orientations and Family nights; Park Bench and Caregiver Workshops; Outings; and new programs among other activities. You will work closely with the Volunteer and Program Coordinator to ensure each program has the support of volunteers and contractors as appropriate. You will work with the Director of Metro Atlanta Clubhouse on program strategy and development, and on budgeting.

Camp Good Mourning Director - 20% of the role

In collaboration with program and camp staff, you will be responsible for organization of all aspects of camps and provide daily oversight to ensure a fun, meaningful, and safe camp experience. You will take the lead on activity planning, logistics; therapeutic activities; supplies; and budget.

Intern Oversight and Coordination - 10% of the role

You will work to maintain a robust internship program, overseeing the recruiting and hiring of undergraduate and MSW interns each semester, and will be responsible for managing them each week.

Other Responsibilities - 10% of the role

You will support the Metro Atlanta Clubhouse Director in other responsibilities, including working with our Newnan location to provide Clubhouse services there. You will also have other responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll bring

  • The ability to translate broad strategic therapeutic goals around grief into specific exercises and activities that keep our members engaged and returning to Kate’s Club.
  • A love of detail and execution: the ability to track multiple activities while still keeping a focus on the mission of the organization.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience working in a social service or mental health-related field; a bachelor’s degree in a human or social services field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with metro Atlanta social services sectors.
  • A passion for the Kate’s Club mission and an understanding of grief and loss.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English highly preferred.
  • The ability to work weekends and evenings.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office 365; Google Suite; Constant Contact; Salesforce; and case management software.
  • A clean driving record and personal auto insurance of $100k per person / $300k per accident / $100k property damage as required by our insurance carrier.

What we offer

  • A flexible hybrid model of work (in our Brookhaven, GA office three days a week and two days remote).
  • A salary range of $50,000 to $54,000 annually.
  • Paid time off, health benefits.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • A strong culture of support and belonging.
  • An unparalleled depth of expertise in grief, with recognition for our work at the national level, and a strong strategic vision, with financial support, to continue to build a world in which it’s okay to grieve.

How to apply

Grief does not discriminate. We encourage anyone who has a passion for building a world in which it’s okay to grieve to apply, even if your experiences do not line up exactly with those in the position description. Please send your resume, cover letter, and salary requirements to careers@katesclub.org with the subject “Director, Metro Atlanta". We will begin reviewing submissions on November 7th.
