Kate’s Club’s vision is to create a world in which it’s okay to grieve, and we want you to join us in this work. We are a community for children and teens, their families, and young adults facing life after the death of someone important to them. The organization brings people together around grief, creating safe - both in-person and virtual - educational, recreational and therapeutic spaces designed to help everyone express the emotions that come with such a loss. This position is focused on leading one of our core programs - Metro Atlanta Clubhouse.

Do you lead others to achieve?

We are seeking a leader who can provide strategic vision as well as tactical day-to-day support.This individual is very detail-oriented, ensuring our programs are delivering results throughout the year and that we have a robust volunteer program. Where necessary,this individual will jump in as an individual contributor to support key programs such as our camp, and will engage with the community to build important partnerships and drive the visibility of Kate’s Club’s work. This individual will be a member of the leadership team of the organization, and leads a team of three employees and one contractor. They will demonstrate financial acumen, coaching skills and strategic planning abilities.

What you'll do

Overall Management - 20% of time

As Director of our key programs, you will spend a core part of your time ensuring your team, along with the broader Kate’s Club organization, is working to achieve Kate’s Club’s strategic goals.

  • You’ll work collaboratively to set goals for your team, provide regular coaching and feedback, and ensure each employee has a plan for career growth.
  • You’ll work with your team and peers to set impact goals and develop the supporting budget to achieve those goals. You’ll work with Development to understand and help achieve our fundraising goals. You’ll interact with the Board of Directors to keep them updated about the progress of our strategic plans.

Strategic Leadership to Metro Atlanta Clubhouse Program Team - 30% of time

  • Provide vision, guidance, and support to metro Atlanta Clubhouse team to ensure successful delivery of key Kate’s Club programs. Oversee budget and strategic program development across the team.
  • Directly supervise several weekend and evening programs as a staff member.
  • Administer phone interviews with new parents and caregivers and bereavement needs assessments with new Clubhouse members.
  • Ensure processes, procedures, training, and onboarding of staff, contractors, and volunteers creates an environment of community and safety for members and their families.
  • Serve as support for the Camp Good Mourning Director, providing on-site logistical and managerial support to help execute a fun, meaningful, and safe camp experience. Manage contracts with key partners (e.g., Camp Twin Lakes, UltraCamp, etc.). When needed, operate as the Assistant Camp Good Mourning Director.

Strategic Leadership to Volunteer and Program Coordinator - 25% of time

  • Provide vision, guidance and support to ensure a robust volunteer program, including recruitment, training,engagement, supervision, recognition, and retention.
  • Work with Volunteer and Program Coordinator to ensure a healthy pipeline of volunteers, developing a recruiting strategy and participating in recruiting events when necessary.

Provide Leadership to Cobb County Coordinator - 20% of time

  • Provide vision, guidance and support to the Cobb County Coordinator, including program development and execution as well as grant reporting.
  • Support the Coordinator in the development of community partnerships, working with them to identify and build relationships to expand Kate’s Club services in Cobb County.

Key Partnerships - 5% of time

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders in Atlanta, including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, IVVY (Interrupting Violence in Youth and Young Adults), and other organizations. Manage relationship with building and property manager.
  • Work with Director of Outreach and Outcomes to identify and cultivate key strategic partners for metro Atlanta program and strategic approach.

What you'll bring

  • Strong leadership experience, including managing individuals and building and managing budgets.
  • Master’s degree in social work or public health or equivalent work experience and experience working with children and families.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and Excel and Google. Salesforce and Constant Contact a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule and work weekends and evenings at least one week a month and often more. Ability to drive to Cobb and Newnan regularly.
