In November of 2002, Kate made a critical career choice to move her adventures away from sports and into the non-profit 
arena to pursue her dream of starting an organization for grieving children and teens. With the full support of her community, family, and friends, Kate developed and launched Kate’s Club, a non-profit organization that empowers children and teens who are facing life after the death of a loved one. Having lost her mother at the age of 12, Kate brought a personal experience to build passion for the cause.
Kate now serves full-time as the Executive Director of Kate’s Club and oversees all the operations and growth initiatives of the non-profit organization. In 2003, Kate was recognized as an “Outstanding Atlantan”, a recognition given to ten young leaders in Atlanta making a difference in the community. Kate has received other honors including being named a 2005 Turner Broadcasting System’s “Pathfinder”; being the youngest honoree recognized in the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s feature “Up and Comers: Top 40 under 40.”, and most recently being honored by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of Georgia’s “40under 40- Rising Stars in Business, Education, Politics, Science, and the Arts.”
